ROAD CHECK 2017 CVSA TO EMPHASIZE CARGO SECUREMENT DURING ROAD CHECK

Each year during the CVSA Roadcheck event, tens of thousands of inspections are conducted. This year, Roadcheck will take place June 6-8, 2017.

The emphasis this year is cargo securement. While checking for compliance with safe cargo securement regulations is always part of roadside inspections, CVSA is highlighting cargo securement safety this year as a reminder of its importance to highway safety.

Roadside inspectors will place special emphasis on cargo securement violations during this year’s International Roadcheck, according the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) website.

CVSA’s International Roadcheck, scheduled June 6-8, 2017, will use the 72-hour heightened inspection period to remind drivers and motor carriers of the importance of following cargo securement regulations.

Cargo securement violations, discovered during a vehicle level of roadside inspection, are used to calculate Vehicle Maintenance BASIC scores under the Compliance, Safety, Accountability enforcement model.
